OVERVIEW

Dynamic Positioning & Control Systems became part of L-3 Communications as a result of the acquisition of certain companies from Nautronix PLC in May 2006. Based in the outskirts of San Diego, California and Houston Texas, the company serves customers throughout the world with vessel control and automation systems. The products comprise a range of simple joysticks for coordinated thruster control to highly sophisticated redundant Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems as well as a range of Vessel Management Systems (VMS), which can be used independently or as part of a fully integrated bridge package. Dynamic Positioning & Control Systems products are suitable for many marine platforms — from luxury yachts to offshore drilling platforms and a wide variety of specialized naval applications. Dynamic Positioning and Control Systems has been a major provider of such systems for over twenty years and has hundreds of systems operating in all regions. Not only is support a key aspect of our business, but so is formal, accredited, operator training conducted from our formal training school.
